About Pam Cotter

Committed Advocate
As your City Council member, I’m committed to listening to residents, protecting taxpayer resources, and making thoughtful, transparent decisions for Murray’s future. I’ve stood alone when necessary—like voting NO on Block One (downtown Murray)—because I read the data and heard your concerns about more apartment buildings. I support responsible growth, fair pay for our city employees, and keeping Council spending in check. I’m always accessible and take pride in solving problems—from helping small businesses open their doors to securing grants for our parks and pushing long-overdue neighborhood improvements forward. My vision is a city that values its residents, respects its resources, and plans smartly for the future.
Values & Vision
Pam's approach involves gaining deep insights into the needs of the community. She listens, strategizes, and implements policies that benefit everyone. Here's a glimpse into her approach:

Accountability to Residents
I listen to the people I serve. I was the only City Council member to vote NO on Block One (with its 150 apartments) because residents overwhelmingly opposed more apartments. My decisions reflect your voice.
I refuse to take any contributions from political parties, unions, developers or other groups. I don't want to owe them any favors!
I run my campaign on a budget, with a few, small contributions from friends and citizens. The vast majority is paid for by myself. In the same way, I won't waste taxpayer money!
Responsible Development
I believe growth must be thoughtful and transparent. I continue to push for the limiting of where and how apartments are built in Murray.

Fiscal Responsibility
I support fair compensation for city employees and voted for a 7% raise for police, fire, and staff. At the same time, I proposed the lowest City Council travel budget because taxpayer dollars must be spent wisely.
Accessibility and Action
This isn’t an 8-to-5 job. I’m available by phone, text, or email anytime. If an issue is important to you, it's important to me. I always return calls and I'll work with you until we find an answer or solve the problem.
I take pride in helping local businesses, securing park grants, and pushing forward neighborhood improvements like the 5400 South curb and gutter project coming next summer.
